چکیده

Concealed AV junctional extrasystoles are described which, conducted in a restrograde manner to the sinoatrial junction, interfere with sinus impulses, thus simulating a second-degree, 2:1, sinoatrial block.

Premature beats and unexpected heart block: an unusual mechanism confirmed by ablation.

A 23-year-old, otherwise healthy woman presented with recurrent skipped and rapid sustained heart beats. Her physical examination and echocardiogram were normal. The presenting ECG in Figure 1 shows sinus rhythm, a nonconducted sinus p wave, and premature complexes. Both left bundle-branch block (5 and 6 complexes) and right bundlebranch block (10 complex) morphologies are present. The 5 and 10...

Correlative electrophysiological and anatomical studies concerning the site of origin of escape rhythm during complete atrioventricular block in the dog.

Complete heart block was produced in eight dogs by the selective perfusion of physostigmine or neostigm into the atrioventricular (AV) node artery. A characteristic escape AV junctional rhythm emerged in each dog. After reversal of the cholinesterase paralysis with atropine, in each dog partial heart block was produced by an incision into the AV nodal region. In three of these eight dogs, a sec...

Concealed ventricular extrasystoles due to interference and due to exit block.

Two cases of sinus rhythm with ventricular extrasystoles are reported in which extrasystoles arising from the same focus obey the rule of "comcealed bigeminy" and the "rule of bigeminy". In a comparatively rapid sinus rhythm, shortening of the sinus cycle favors the appearance of extrasystoles, and the extrasystoles obey the fule of "concealed bigeminy"; namely, sinus impulses intervene between...

The results of electrophysiological study and radio-frequency catheter ablation in pediatric patients with tachyarrhythmia.

A total of 135 consecutive pediatric patients (pts) with tachyarrhythmia ranging from two to 21 years of age (median age 11 years) underwent electrophysiological study (EPS) between January 1994 and July 2001. Tachycardia could not be induced in 38 of 135 pts (28%) and studies in these patients were accepted as the normal EPS. Supraventricular tachyarrhythmia mechanisms were atrioventricular (A...
